In recognition of her work she was named the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross has been playing with Klineman since 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before the year. In fact, she's had the chance to win numerous events, and one was won by a legendary volleyball player. In the period 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who was the winner of the world championship alongside Kessy in 2009 was also a major force on international stage. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. The team won bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a college athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She played in high school, and even some years before she hit the beaches as a professional. Ross had an impressive run through the NCAA tournament. In 2000, she was voted Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans get to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat as an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans team, she led the team to win a national championship every year. For her part, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the most outstanding female college volleyball players in the United States. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. This meant that Ross is still close to her parent who died. Margie has been an inspiration in her life and on the beaches.
