Sheryl Underwood, an American comedian and television host best known as the host for The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime television. Born in Arkansas she grew up within Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is from a family that has had many issues. Sheryl was raised by her sibling Frankie. Frankie had suffered with the disease of Polio. While growing up, Sheryl experienced many issues with her mother. Sheryl claims that in an incident, she was stabbed by her father because he was becoming too close to her. Sheryl was a soldier after she graduated from the college. However her interest lay in comedy. She became the first woman to be a finalist in the contest Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV career began in 1992 as a actor on the HBO comedy show Def Comedy Jam. She appeared as host of Oh Drama! as the host in the year 2000. She is currently a guest host on the talk talk show from 2011. She has also been in fictional roles on shows including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
